Numbers Melamine Plate
The 1-100 Plate is a terrific tool for teaching your child basic math principles. It consists of the numbers 1 to 100 in sequential order, with ten numbers per row across ten rows.The layout allows children to count left to right by ones, and down by tens. As well as teaching your child to count to 100, the hundreds chart can be used to help children with addition and subtraction as well as basic multiplication and division. This plate is extremely useful for early primary school aged children.
To make the plate more fun and interactive, questions have been added around the border, such as how old are you? And what is your street number?
For children 4-8 years old:
- Ask them count to 100.
- Ask them to find the even numbers and the odd numbers.
- Ask them to count by two’s or three’s or five’s etc.
- Ask them to count up by 10?s.
- Ask them to count down by 10?s.
- Give your child some problems addition and subtraction problems such: 18 add 9, or 66 take away 11 and help them use the chart to find the answer.

- Place some peas on the plate and ask them to find the picture of the peas on the plate. Show them the letter P and repeat the word "??peas”. Then make sure they eat their peas!
- Repeat this process with cut up apples, watermelon, carrots, strawberries, zucchini etc.
- Talk about all the different colours on the plate and educate them about eating a range of different colours of fruits and vegetables daily.

Product Description
The Blue Shapes Plate is a wonderful introduction to shapes and colours. From a circle to a decagon, this plate covers a range of 2D shapes.
Kids can start by matching colours to find matching shapes. They can count the sides to determine the shape and they can try and identify all 15 two dimensional shapes in the picture.
Kids from the age of 2-10 years can be challenged by this design.
It also introduces the concept of 3D shapes, such as cubes, pyramids and cylinders which can be a talking point between parent and child during mealtimes.
For children 2-4 years old:
- Ask them to tell identify all the colours on the plate.
- Ask them to find the 3 yellow circles.
- Ask them to find the 7 red triangles.
- Ask them to count the sides of the pentagon, hexagon, heptagon and decagon.
- Ask them to find the 2 pentagons and the 3 squares.
- Ask them to point to the star and semi circles and ovals.
- See if they can find other 2D shapes in their environment, such as rectangular photo frames, round plates, square floor tiles, a crescent moon, triangular school crossing sign or an octagonal stop sign.
- Introduce the idea of 3D shapes, like spheres and cylinders etc and try to identify some around the kitchen (a cylindrical baked beans can or spherical watermelon).
For children 5-8 years old:
- Ask them to find and name all 13, 2D shapes on the plate.
- Ask them to find all the squares, pentagons, circles, semicircles, ovals and triangles on the plate.
- See if they can tell you other shapes in the environment that may be a diamond shape or an octagon or heptagon shape? Such as a kite, road signs, a 50 cents coin.
- Introduce the idea of 3D shapes, like cubes, spheres, pyramids and cylinders etc and try to identify some around the kitchen (a cylindrical baked beans can or a spherical watermelon or meatballs, a cubed ice or cheese).
